Meet Miss Phoebe

Breed: English Pointer

Barking from: Nelson

What's up dog?

Miss Phoebe is the sweetest, gentlest dog I have ever had and everyone falls in love with her, regardless of their age. She has the ability to know when someone is worried or unhappy and will go gently to them to reassure them. When I was attending a local church and there were a group of men from Vanuatu there whose families at home had just gone through a terrible cyclone, she got up at the end of the service from under the keyboard I was playing where she would always lie and went straight down the aisle to the man who was the most upset and gently nuzzled up to him. She is also, like all English Pointers, absolutely hilarious and has me wound around her paw well and truly. She is the best hot water bottle anyone could have and has been a huge help to my anxiety, curling up beside me with her head on the pillow, the rest of her under the covers, summer or winter. The funniest thing that ever happened was when the local council decided they wanted to spread treated human waste on our favourite dog walking area. People were allowed to go to a council meeting and make submissions so I took her to make one herself. The look on the councilor's faces was priceless. They never went ahead with the proposal so I figure she was partly responsible for that, having very strong views on the subject which she very ably put forward. I undertake alot of floral work and Miss Phoebe is a marvelous assistant, always with me to collect and gather flowers and deliver arrangements. The joy and happiness she brings to myself, friends and family (and my two felines, Beni-Ben and Lily-Lou) is very precious indeed.
